Get Your Free Single Property Website

August 17th, 2007

To show you the proof is in the pudding, I'm offering all members of Active Rain a free single property website. Visit IndividualListings.com and register as a user and then contact me with your username and I will give you a free website to use whenever you want for whatever property you want. The only string attached is for you to post your feedback to my AR Single Property Website Group. The single property website includes a free domain, 12 months of hosting, and several features that I'm sure you will be extremely happy with. I created IndividualListings.com for my own use but commercialized it because I think many others can benefit from it. It's a great tool that your clients will think is the best thing in the world. Here's two example sites: 1195Charity.com or 225SycamoreDr.com. Check them out and let me know if you have any questions or feedback. A large inventory of branded custom headers are already available and additional can be made at no cost if you provide a logo.

Domain Name Ownership

August 17th, 2007

A word to the wise, if you hire someone to build a website for you or you purchase a single property domain name and as part of either of these scenarios, a domain name is registered for you, you will not be the owner of the domain name.  Many people don't put much thought into this but the problem is when you get tired of paying $30 to $40 a month for maintenance on your personal website that you're not benefiting from or utilizing and decide to take your business elsewhere, the owner of the domain can play hardball with you and not transfer it to you or your new service provider. The real issue here is when you spend years building up your intellectual property and then find out it's not yours to transfer. It's just something to be aware of. If you don't know if you own your domain name, go to this link WHOIS and see who actually does own your domain name. You may find out it's not you. What you want to do is sign up with a good registrar and transfer like the one in that link and transfer your domain names to it and manage them yourself.

I'm always available if you have any questions or need any assistance with domain names, registrations, single property websites, or personal website development.

Single Property Websites vs Virtual Tours

July 27th, 2007

single property website sampleSingle Property Websites are the virtual tours replacement. I've used virtual tours from tour factory and I've checked out the tours from visual tour but I'm convinced more than ever that Single Property Websites are here to replace them. The reason why is simple. Virtual tours were cutting edge technology when they first came out. People were like, "whoa…how do you get the room to be one big picture…." and then the ability to do links in the tours where you walk in the front door into the home entrance and you could click on the kitchen to go there or click upstairs to go there and then once upstairs you could click on any of the bedroom doors to go in one of them or the bathroom. They were really neat when they first started. Anymore though, in my opinion, the virtual tour is stagnent. The tour opens up, it's all boiler plate with minimal customization and the picture just starts touring before you even have a chance for the entire page to load.

Now enter the Single Property Websites where you have basically a shrine set up for your property for the price of a weekend open house notification. That's pretty cheap for one year of hosting, a domain name, and a template structure that looks professional and includes all the pertinent information to get anyone interested in the property to call the listing agent.  The Single Property Websites allow more customization with custom headers, personal links, open house information, and more, but the best part is the user has thumbnail pictures to select what pictures they want to see instead of tabs that say bedroom1, bedroom2, garage, master bath, etc.

I'm definitely bias because I developed individuallistings.com as a solutions to all the other single property website options out there that are way overpriced, but my points are valid. If you think about the evolution of technology, then you can see that virtual tours have been around long enough to be due for replacement by something better and single property websites are going to be it. I'm so confident that I've offered a free website to anyone that registers and emails me mentioning active rain.  I'm positive you're expectations will be exceeded.

Single Property Websites Group Introduction

July 24th, 2007

Hello all…welcome to Single Property Websites Group. I created this group so I can talk about Single Property Websites. I created a website called IndividualListings.com that sells single property websites for $39.95. I created it for myself but decided to take it commercial for a few reasons which include, additional revenue stream in a slow market and also because it's a damn good tool and I wanted to share the wealth. With that, I've made an offer to anyone that registers as a member of IndividualListings.com and emails me with mentions this group or active rain, I will give them a free property website. The only thing I request is feedback and a testimony to this group. It's pretty simple. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and decide to use my service as part of your marketing plan. Think about it, for $40 you can get a professional website for your properties. That's cheaper than one weekend open house announcement in the local paper for most markets.

I'll be postings information on this group regularly about the Single Property Websites and hope more of you will join me.

I look forward.
